Job Description:
In this position, your job responsibilities include designing high-end rack mount and pedestal server enclosures using Pro/E software. The architect will need to work with marketing requirements, design the system details, and build prototype chassis. Mechanical team members need to interface to marketing teams, electrical board development teams, thermal teams,and power teams to ensure the systems meet It's and industry requirements. It is required to understand shock and vibration influences on system designs, EMI requirements, thermal design requirements, detailed tolerance analysis, and how system and motherboards interface to chassis and are connected by cables. You are expected to commit to program schedule requirements and keep the schedules through the architectural phases. The Mechanical Architects must be able to document the Product Architecture Requirements in a document that is transferred to the development teams and is used to complete the detailed design. This requires the ability to work with ambiguity in the early phases of architecture and to be self-motivated.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years experience or a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years experience.
Additional Qualifications Include:
- At least three years experience with Pro/E
- At least two years experience working with both sheet metal and plastics, in electronic equipment or component design.
- Experience with rack mount and/or pedestal server design
- Prefer experience leading a team through early development phases.
- At least three years experience in Microsoft Office Programs
- Ability to communicate (written and Verbal) in English
