The Unlimited Potential Group (UPG) development team has the exciting mission of bringing new products to market.  We are primarily focused on emerging markets with an emphasis on the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid.   There is no shortage of challenge in this space; therefore, we are looking for people who are passionate about working on an uncharted problem set, capable of dealing with fast paced development, and able to make concrete progress in the midst of ambiguity.  The current development culture is Startup in nature; hence, broad-ranging contribution is expected.   Currently our product portfolio has required development in the following areas: hardware, ASIC, BIOS, Drivers, Windows, NT Services, Web Services, and Database.

We are looking for candidates with solid development skills in Windows, C, C++, and C#.  The job will require an ability to learn and master new topics.  The job will entail technical over-sight and individual contribution.  Our expectation is that the Development Lead will drive the spirit of engineering excellence through their own behavior; provide guidance to less senior people, and be accountable for the overall development teams deliverables.  The development lead will be responsible for resource allocation and will be expected to know how to creatively guide a project so that the project provides career opportunities for all team members.  

The development lead will need to have good communications skills in Chinese and English, for, there will be significant coordination work between development teams in Beijing and Redmond.
