Qualifications: The skill set required to excel as a Product Planner includes strong problem-solving skills as well as excellent English written and verbal communication skills. More specifically, a successful candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to discover and evaluate new business opportunities by creating customer-driven plans backed by solid market and financial analysis.
- Think strategically about business issues.
- Understand new technologies and their benefits to customers and end-users.
- Synthesize large amounts of information into crisp recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to present and defend recommendations to a variety of audiences, such as executives, program managers, and developers.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage cross-group and external relationships, and work closely in virtual teams.
- Be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively.
- Ability to travel internationally (Europe, US, Japan).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the high-tech industry as product planner, product manager, project manager, program manager, or management consultant. Experience with market research is a plus and an MBA is strongly preferred.
Key Accountabilities: As an International Planner based in China, you will specifically be responsible for:
- Conducting worldwide research and analysis of customer requirements, emerging trends, and market opportunities to impact Information Worker product. development and providing actionable product recommendations for key decisions that help grow the business and satisfy our customers.
- Deeply understanding and articulating China customers' requirements for the Information Worker business, ensuring these requirements impact decision making in the China development center.
- Representing the China market, building customer and partner relationships in that market, and providing local market insight to assist Program Managers and Product Planners globally.
