Company Background:
Our client is a well-known Europe commercial vehicle manufacturer.

Primary Purpose Of Position:
Design and implement international supply chains from China and Korea to North America.  Determine landed cost effect for shipping production parts from China and Korea to North America.  Determine optimal sea container cube utilization and shipping frequency to minimize transportation costs.

Responsibilities:

• Identify all the international transportation, handling and customs duty costs associated with shipping automotive component parts from China and Korea to North America.
• Compare supplier quoted transportation costs with target costs.
• Validate part supplier¡¯s international supply chain capability.
• Review and approve supplier packaging proposals.
• Use auto industry supply chain evaluation tools to review supplier's international logistics plan.
• Implement new suppliers on EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). 
• Train suppliers on Chrysler shipping requirements.
• Identify and implement cost reduction ideas.
• Negotiate freight rates with Ocean Steamship companies.
• Negotiate freight rates with 3 PL service providers.
• Negotiate airfreight rates.
• Perform root cause analysis for transportation damage.
• Perform root cause analysis for supplier shipping problems.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7-10 years experience with international (export) transportation, Logistics.
• Proven experience with international supply chains.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Continuous improvement leadership skills.
• Six Sigma or equivalent quality training.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lead change.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Self Motivated.
• Strong PC Skills.
• English speaking and writing skills.
