Company Background: Our client is a leading MNC chipmaker in the computing and communications industries.
Description: In this position, you will be responsible for the design activities of next generation IA-32 volume server motherboards in EPSD. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Demonstrating an ability to integrate in-house design activities.
- Working with marketing and architecture to define the product, designing critical core technologies, designing and overseeing the design of all server baseboard subsystems.
- Leading the hardware design engineers as the technical lead.
- Responsible for interfacing with other development teams such as BIOS, chassis and Validation team.
- During the design and validation process, you will be acting as the primary interface for design issues between board design team and other supporting teams.
- Setting engineering direction and ensuring execution to that direction.
Qualifications:
You should possess a Master of Electronic Engineering degree with three years relevant experience, or a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering degree with five years relevant experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with digital board evaluation, signal integrity, Cadence* board design tools and/or have experience determining root causes of tough technical issues. Demonstrating improvements in development processes due to technical issues is preferred. Additional qualifications include:
- Solid understanding of IA-32 platform architecture.
- Strong digital design skills with experience with high speed digital busses such as Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI), hub link, memory or front side bus.
- Technical experience with digital components, including understanding the application of different logic families.
- Self starter who can work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, as is a highly disciplined approach to problem solving.
- Experience in Multi-Geo collaboration, multifunctional communication with Basic Input Output System (BIOS), chassis development team and validation team.
- Experience in leading hardware development teams delivering baseboard product.
- Process development experience would be an added advantage.
