Real Estate Finance Controller- Director/Vice President(2350)

Company Background:
Our client is a famous investment bank.

Description:

  • Accountable for managing the reporting, accounting and analysis of it's Real Estate Investments in China, including accuracy and timeliness of monthly and year end financial statements including audited financial statements, tax returns and other investor reporting. 
  • Primary liaison with external auditors, tax accountants, financial counterparties at operating partners and property management firms 
  • Preparing investor and management reports 
  • Managing a team, providing leadership, continuity and mentoring. 
  • Assisting in due diligence during acquisitions 
  • Geographic scope of role currently covers Beijing and Shanghai however this may grow with time. 
  • Preparation and review of financial analysis pertaining to real estate investment performance 
  • Participation in execution and implementation of financing strategy and legal entity structuring issues pertaining to real estate investments 
  • Advising operating partners with respect to accounting and regulatory issues, controls, etc

Skills Required:

  • 10-15 years of relevant working experience either for a big 4 accounting firm or in private industry preferably with a US multi-national company. Relevant experience includes financial reporting, accounting and analysis, including US GAP and PRC GAP, with solid exposure to both US and PRC reporting standards. 
  • The individual must have either an accounting or finance degree from a respected undergraduate college and CPA qualification in either China or US would be a strong benefit. 
  • Written and Verbal fluency in both English & Mandarin is essential. 
  • Strong communication skills will be necessary as this person will be interacting with It Real Estate employees worldwide and will be expected to participate in regular conference calls where only English is spoken. The person will also need strong written communication and presentation expertise for reporting and presentations and that will be viewed by colleagues throughout the world, in line with US standards. 
  • Prior real estate or financial industry experience a plus but not required. 
  • Managing a small group of staff accountants and accounting managers. The individual should be self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. He/she will need to be able to work on many tasks simultaneously and must have the ability to prioritize responsibilities to cope with urgent and last minute changes. The candidate will also need to be able to work well with a diverse group of colleagues spanning different countries, cultures and personalities. 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task a big plus.
