Company Background: Our client is a JV plant to produce engines in Beijing.
Key Responsibilities£º
- Lead the Quality Engineering Activities for BFCEC.
- Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) efforts on new product launches.
- Train and mentor teams in application of quality tools.
- Train, mentor, and supervise quality engineers for the Block Line and Assembly, Test, Paint and Upfit.
- Participate in developing Quality systems.
- Coordinate the implementation of TS16949.
- Perform process capability studies, gage repeatability & reproducibility studies and statistical analysis including design of experiments for manufacturing lines.
- Participate in cost improvement and process optimization efforts
- Lead problem solving on engine and supplier quality issues.
- Develop and implement control/inspection plans.
- Qualify new equipment both in-house and at machine tool supplier locations.
- Support application and calibration of precision gauging used in manufacturing lines.
- Implementation of technology solutions for collection and reporting of quality measures to the business.
- Component supplier quality responsibility.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree at minimum .
- Experience with high volume manufacturing, with both machining and assembly experience.
- Quality Professional accreditation.
- Six Sigma Certification/experience preferred.
- Good understanding of Manufacturing principles, automation and Quality Control.
- Minimum 7 years work experience in an automotive manufacturing shop-floor environment.
- Knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerances, and ability to read Engineering prints.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Statistics (eg. Minitab) and Quality documentation systems (GIEA, HMS CAPP, Qsi)
- Good understanding of Quality principles.
- Good analytical and statistical background in Statistical Design of Experiments, SPC, Capability Analysis and Hypothesis Testing.
- Good understanding of precision metrology techniques and measurement uncertainty.
- Experience in application of Structured problem solving techniques in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of Lean, Six Sigma.
- Good oral and written communication skills, Chinese & English.
- Able to interact effectively and professionally with customers, other engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel.
- Able to communicate effectively with peers and managers.
- Ability and willingness to teach/mentor others in one's areas of expertise.
- Self directed and motivated: able to identify work to be done and then do it.
- Able to make informed decisions based on sound analysis and judgement with minimal direction.
- Able to work on multiple issues, working cross-functionally and managing tasks simultaneously.
- Able to plan effectively and keep focused on project/improvement for world class product quality & systems.
- Ability to manage, motivate and coach a team of quality professionals.
