Job Responsibility:
Responsible for Customs compliance, US Export Licensing & indirect tax matters (VAT) for it Assembly & Testing site (A7T7) in Chengdu. The Customs Manager will drive the application of it's world wide policy on customs and US Export Licensing issues through education & training, ensuring compliance with US and PRC laws and regulations. In addition, the Customs Manager will play a key role in working with it business groups to promote growth in Chengdu that is consistent with both US & PRC regulations.
Building solid working relationships and an active network inside and outside of it will be an essential element of success. Outside it, actively liaising with Customs, other governmental authorities & industry associations to formulate policies that can promote the smooth international transfer of products into & out of China is a key success metric. Inside it, working with key groups to formulate & implement policies that ensure compliance, minimize exposure & maximize cash flow for the company. Successful candidate must serve as a role model of it's corporate business principles or if you like conduct oneself with the highest personal and professional integrity.
This Customs Manager will report directly to the PRC Customs Manager.
Requirement:
A bachelor degree or above desired. 7+ years of customs or logistics or supply chain related working experience in a MNC is a MUST. Preference given to candidate who has manufacturing working experience and who has a good understanding of the customs regulations on processing trade business in China. Experience of Export Processing Zone or Free Trade Zone or Logistics Park, US export licensing, indirect taxes would be beneficial. A thorough understanding of PRC customs regulations is a MUST. In order to be successful, the candidate will need good communication skills and a proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. |
