Company Background: Our client is a JV plant to produce engines in Beijing.
Key Responsibilities:
Short Term:
- Liaison with AVL and it Global Test Support Group to understand, define and create a plan for implementation of the test facility
- Become trained in the it MR production test methods and procedures
- Be responsible for the system network structure creation and availability required for production test integrated operation
- Manage the installation and startup of the production test cells
Mid-term
- Establish training requirements for test cell operators and other staff in running and maintaining the test facility, and coordinate the scheduling of necessary training
- Establish operational processes and procedures related to the running, reporting, and maintaining of the production engine test area
- Calibration schedules:Preventative Maintenance plan,Work flow process,Metrics - utilization, effectiveness and efficiency,Health & Safeties - setting standards, reporting procedures et
- Identify the necessary support equipment ( hand tools, power tools, spare parts,..) and lead the effort for their procurement
Long Term:
- Technical resource to support, develop and improve production capability and availability of plant production test.
- Support new product introduction and options as they impact the process and equipment related to production test.
- Trouble shoot production test failure issues and recommend preventative procedures and/or improvement
Skills-Functional/Technical:
- Mechanical Engineer with a strong electrical/controls background
-Mechanical test Equipment -Electronic controls systems -Facility item like ( HVAC, cooling water, electricity, ..)
- Engine knowledge and experience, both Mechanical engine and Electronic engine controls (Diesel preferred)
- Experience with project work and support of production test.
- Facility knowledge or experience
- Computer skills with MS Office, Autocad.

- Analytical approach to solving issues.
- Must be able to continuously improve work flow process, and test procedures and cycles to improve cycle time, cost and quality
- Experience/familiarity with structured problem solving/improvement tools such as six sigma, 7-step, etc.

- Need to work with cross functional plant support teams
- Good oral and written communication skills.
