Role description: Responsibility for the CTS department in Mobile Communication, Design Center Beijing. Contribution to platform strategy and selection. Responsible for platform development as well as for development of LCD, camera, audio components, battery, charger and antenna according to project schedule, quality and cost requirements. Responsible for assessment, selection and evaluation of new technologies related to HW. Responsible for the department's resource-, project- and invest planning. Fulfill business targets in planned budget.
Operational responsibilities:
- Defining CTG department strategy.
- Provide new technologies to develop the products which meets the strategy and market demand of whole company.
- Establish and maintain interface to one or more chipset suppliers and obtain and distribute roadmap and other strategic information from those suppliers
- Contribute to the selection of suitable platforms for new products.
- Recruit, manage, motivate, assess, promote and develop employees in their area of responsibility.
- Build up competent teams to manage activities concerning resources, know how and skills.
- Responsible for all results of all teams and members of his/her division in terms of the targets of the business unit.
Development responsibilities:
- Overall resource and budget planning and monitoring in coordination with the teams.
- Monitor key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
- Participate regular project status reviews and contribute expertise to project team.
- Provide direction on design and development activities to improve, modify or design new equipment, products and processes.
- Track tendency of technology , propose the suggestion for technical development and new product development.
- Ensure proper documentation.
- Adhere to all security, safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
Competencies required:
- >8 year international company management experiences.
- Project- and Hardware management expertise especially for Mobile Phone development.
- Telecommunciation industry (mobile phone industry is preferred) working experiences.
- Multi-project management experience.
- Technical engineering background knowledge.
- Rich people management experiences.
Responsibility for financial results:
- Department invest purchasing within Budget.
- Delivery of Hardware solution within cost targets ¨C BOM and project cost.
