Description: Join the Enterprise Marketing Operation-China (EMO-C) team based in Shanghai as part of the Server Platform Group (SPG) in Digital Enterprise Group (DEG). The EMO-C team is chartered is to provide performance analysis and benchmarking for It's latest enterprise server & workstation platforms and to engage with local customers in PRC/APAC on performance and competitive marketing. As the Performance Marketing Architect in the team, you will be responsible for initial set up and tuning of system configurations for performance, power and scalability testing of new platforms. You will also be evaluating new industry benchmarks and identifying proof-points to highlight specific features or capabilities such as power management or virtualization performance for new platforms. The outcome is the creation of platform benchmark data and proof points (empirical evidence that server of one platform is better than another) for new platform product launch.
Qualifications: Successful candidate should have wealth of experience with server or workstation platform power-on and performance validation. A Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Additional qualifications include:
- Fundamentals of microprocessor architecture, especially Core 2 Duo and it'Xeon processors.
- Understanding of the elements of computer systems and their performance implications.
- Experience running benchmarks such as SPECJBB*, SPECCPU*, LINPACK* would be an added advantage.
- Experience installing, configuring and optimizing with Windows* and Linux*.
- Independent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as with cross-geo teams.
- Solid English written and verbal communication skills would be an added advantage.
