Description: 
The Managed Runtime Division of SSG has openings for software developers to work on developing libraries, test suites and infrastructure for Managed Runtime Environment (MRTE) technology. In this position, you will be working in an open source project to develop MRTE class libraries, test suites and virtual machine technology that is tuned and optimized for best performance on It? architectures. You will be expertising with traditional software development practices and testing and automation infrastructures in Java* and C/C++. 
 
Qualifications: 
You should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and a minimum of one to two years of experience is preferred. Additional qualifications include:

• Strong software development skills in Java* or C/C++, Windows* and Linux* operating systems, and open source projects. 
• Extensive experience in Java* and C/C++ programming; object oriented programming techniques, application architectures and knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems. 
• Detailed knowledge of programming language specifications, virtual machine technology, class libraries for network, IO, graphics, language, utilities, security, and others would be an added advantage. 
• Analytical and problem solving skills, good understanding of computer architecture, as well as the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment would be n added advantage. 
• A background in performance analysis would be an added advantage. 
• Knowledge of language specifications, virtual machine technology, class libraries for network, IO, graphics, language, utilities, security, and others would be an added advantage. 
• Previous experience with open source projects would be an added advantage. 
• Familiarity with working on a large complex software development project involving multiple geographic sites would be an added advantage. 
• Familiarity with IA-32 and/or IPF platform and microprocessor architectures wouuld be an added advantage.
