Role/Purpose:


Manages a safe, attractive and functional physical environment for all employees. In support of the department vision to create an exceptional workplace, the facility manager develops, implements and maintains facility programs that reflect the priorities of continuous improvement, automation, thinking globally and identifying best practices, while at the same time working to reduce it's financial exposure.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops guidelines for space management and conducts overall space planning, including furniture moves, reconfiguration and ongoing process improvement. Conducts ongoing needs assessment by soliciting divisional headcount information and growth information to determine space needs for future planning.
  • Effectively manages customer expectations and ongoing customer relations. Communicates status and timeline of facility maintenance projects, enhancements, and changes. Develops and maintains standards to manage relationships with facility related vendors.
  • Proactively manages complete facility maintenance of building/sites including, but not limited to: maintaining superior condition of company space; and is the landlord/vendor liaison.
  • Effectively leads and manages Facilities team, including but not limited to Facilities Technicians, Service Coordinators, Facilities Systems Specialists, Security Managers, Directory Assistance/Reception Supervisors, Receptionists, and contracted mailroom operation.
  • Manages facility programs covering disaster preparedness and recovery and coordinates with Headquarters division to implement company-wide emergency response plan.
  • Establishes and manages facilities budget and is responsible for reporting financial information. In conjunction with corporate real estate evaluates present and future needs for real estate.
  • Maintains and oversees facilities architectural drawings and floor plans. Ensures all construction drawings and floor plans are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintains various facility systems such as HVAC, utilities and systems such as emergency generator, lighting, security and fire testing.
  • In some locations, also responsible for parking, car leasing and fleet management.
