The China globalization team is looking for a strong engineering manager to join us in leading and managing a solid international engineering team. Our team charts are to deliver localized products to it customers with higher quality, better efficiency and quicker time to market. We want to become the double byte enablement center for APAC, Japan and it's emerging markets. To achieve the goal, we have lot of challenges. Job and Responsibilities:
- Oversee career development of world-class localization engineering team.
- Lead the development of it localization and internationalization engineering processes and guidelines.
- Enforce established it localization engineering processes and guidelines
- Define and manage overall localization engineering schedules and milestones
- Report on status of active localization/internationalization projects along with associated mitigation plans for problem areas.
- Work with program manager and QE team to deliver It localized products
- Schedule tasks assigning appropriate resources as required.
- Process Focus ¨C owning/defining/following and improving technical and non-technical localization engineering processes.
- Tools/technology ¨C excellent knowledge of the main localization industry tools and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
- Training of localization engineers, providing encouragement and feedback
- Articulate, advice and consult on industry related technology and skills to team, peers, clients and management.
- Support Program Managers / Functional Managers through projects, initiatives, load balancing, etc.
- Drive the continuous process improvement within the engineering process and also as part of the R&D management team, drive process improvement within the wider R&D team.
- Plan assigned projects documenting the scope, constraints, key success factors, budget, tasks, deliverables, roles and responsibilities.
Required skills:
- Demonstrated understanding of software internationalization, localization development process.
- Ability to work as part of a Global Engineering Team.
- Effective presentation/communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English
- Effective project/resource management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong leadership ability and management experience.
- Prior experience in related localization, internationalization field
- Ability to work on 'big-picture' issues while keeping an eye on technical details.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with other internal and external vendor resources.
- Experience managing activities of other localization or translation professionals.
- Comfort with matrix management and with virtual teams.
- Experience managing multiple projects, including resource planning and scheduling.
- Experience with talent hiring and development, on site vendor contractor management and other vendor resource models.
