Essential Responsibilities:

• Conducting Structural FEA analysis of components or assembly or sub-systems using simulation tools like ANSYS
• Working with design teams to decide on the analysis methodology and simulating the operating conditions and failure criteria.
• Conducting predictive failure analysis for damage prediction and root cause determination
• Proposing testing methods to conduct analysis validation tests for correlation study.
• Recommending design or material solutions to meet the allowable design/ safety limits.
• Understanding design problems and assist through various analysis methods and hands on calculations in the proposal of design solutions with consideration to performance, manufacturability, materials, etc.

• Aware of and comply with the  Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
• Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
• Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
• Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics or Aerospace Engineering 
• 4+ years experience in mechanical design or project engineering
• In-depth understanding of continuum mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, finite element method, failure analysis and engineering design concepts
• Experience with mechanical simulation tools like ANSYS, NASTRAN, LS DYNA
• Experience in predictive engineering and structural linear static analysis & non-linear static analysis procedures

Desired Characteristics:

• MS in a technology field
• Experience in dynamic analysis procedures
• Experience in CFD and thermal simulations
