Description

In this position , you will be responsible for the engineering and designing of civil, structural and architectural systems for industrial facilities of varying complexity. Work includes taking various levels of responsibility for and participation in the development of project scope, budget and schedule. Engineer and/or Architect will provide technical direction to outside A&E firms throughout the project design phase, interface with site user groups, other engineering disciplines, local municipalities and/or utilities, trade contractors and other project stakeholders.  Engineer and/or Architect will perform regular field inspections during construction and will monitor the project during construction to ensure that it is within agreed scope and that the work is being performed to it specifications and expectations.

Qualifications

You should possess a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Structural Engineering with more than five years experience in design and construction of industrial systems. Professional registration is preferred. Additional qualifications include:

• Good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills and have a working knowledge of office personal computer applications 
• An understanding of civil, structural and architectural systems and familiarity with UBC and other codes 
• Ability to interface with a multi-user customer base and within a `Virtual Factory' engineering network to obtain critical project information 
• Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity 
• Experience with design and construction 
• Working knowledge on AutoCAD would be an added advantage 
• Familiarity with cleanrooms and automated material handling systems would be an added advantage
