Job description:
The UMG Platform Software Group PRC engineering team in Ultra Mobile Group define, develop and validate software products and solution stacks for Mobile Internet Device/Ultra Mobile PC based on it's cutting edge low power technologies. We are looking for highly motivated and experienced software engineers to join our engineering team. The candidate will work with multiple partners/stakeholders in US, India and other international locations.

In this position, you will be joining a growing, nimble software engineering team within the UPSG organization.  You will be taking ownership for various tasks in driving integrated SW solutions and delivering Intel platform SW and value -add technologies as core elements of UMG products. You will be responsible for the MID Linux* SW definition, implementation, optimization, defect fixing and you will also be providing Linux* SW architecture and technical consultant support to UMG  marketing for engaging with the customers to identify/enable/deploy Design Win via SW stack definition/integration/customization.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must be creative, have strong problem solving ability and a desire to deliver cutting edge technology in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A high degree of confidence in Java/J2ME and/or C/C++ development is highly desirable. Must be outgoing and also have a strong inclination to take ownership of customer problems and work with internal resources to provide solutions for customer problems.

You should also possess more than 3 years working experience as a SW developer for a Master of Science degree or more than 5 years working experience for a Bachelor of Science degree on Computer Science, or Computer Engineering or Electronic Engineering. 

Additional qualifications include:

• Strong software development background, including experience with Linux* drivers/kernel, middleware and applications development
• Must have very strong algorithmic skills, and a strong desire to tackle challenging and unknown areas. 
• Must exhibit technical & problem solving skills to define & execute tasks independently and have strong written and verbal communications in both English and Mandarin
• Excellent Linux SW development, testing and debugging skills in Java/J2ME and C/C++. Be familiar with Linux development environment and had a proven track record in SW product development through a full life cycle
• Experience in Android SW development with good understanding of object oriented coding principles

The following qualifications would be added advantages

• Experience to work effectively across organizational and geographic boundaries; A proven ability to take ownership of multidisciplinary problems and drive them to closure
• In depth understanding on Linux* kernel and/or driver development
• Knowledge of open source development models, and experience dealing with Linux* OSVs and organizations developing open source sw outside of Intel
• Knowledge of Intel IA-32 architecture and/or Linux phone SW stack
• Experience in interfacing with external customers and fellow travelers to work on customer issues and bug fixes
• Be able to consider multiple technical alternatives and present key findings in a clear and succinct manner.
