Company Background:
Our client is a well-known MNC company in various technology and services industries.

This position is for a development engineer in it's Water & Process Technologies R&D laboratories at it's China Technology Center in the Water Reuse Team.  Position duties include developing new membrane based modules, unit operations and process systems for wastewater treatment and water reuse using it membranes (UF/MBR, NF/RO) and also providing technical support to customers.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

• Conceive, develop, test, and prototype new membrane modules, unit operations and systems that minimize energy expenditure and manufacturing cost and maximize system performance and reliability through the use of engineering tools and experiments
• Coordinate cross functional teams and external EPC vendors for water treatment system assembly and on-site commissioning for pilot equipment
• Provide technical and engineering support, customer service and non-routine problem solving for wastewater treatment and water re-use applications
• Drive localization of our membrane products and systems by performing validation experiments using locally sourced materials and components
• Gather and analyze data and report key results
• Observe all health and safety rules and implement all policies, practices and procedures
   

Qualifications/Requirements:

• MS degree in mechanical/chemical engineering
• Demonstrated expert proficiency with 3d CAD; 2 years mechanical design experience preferred
• Motivated self-starter with the personal initiative to help shape a growth program
• Ability to conceive innovative solutions to complex problems and reduce to practice
• Solid statistical, data analysis, and scientific method skills
• Ability to use data and statistical analysis tools for planning DOEs in experimentation and for working-up results and making conclusions
• Creative, hands-on experimentalist
• Ability to design, construct, modify, operate, and troubleshoot equipment
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills
• Ability to follow all safety rules and policies and promote a safe work place
• Knowledge of chemicals, pumps and fluid processing equipment preferred
   

Desired:

• Familiarity with common chemical process unit operations, including membranes
• Solid knowledge in mechanical molding and machining discipline
• Understanding of reverse osmosis machine design considerations
