Sales Application Engineer(3362-1)

Company Background:
Our client is a well-known MNC company in various technology and services industries.


The Sales Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will develop HSR budgetary proposals that meet customer needs, become the process owner of the HSR sizing and configuration program, manage complex customer issues within functional areas of expertise, solve problems, and contribute to the overall business strategy. 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and respond to customer RFQ's for HSR compressor, identifying optimum solutions, utilizing sizing and configurative tooling
  • Develop solutions for customer inquiries for HSR Account Managers on Compressor packaging that meet the defined applicant
  • Integrate with sales, marketing and P&L teams to identify and define technology programs to create products that increase output, improve efficiency, or reduce operating cost
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to maintain and grow the sales pipeline in both new units and the aftermarket business segments
  • Identify and translate customer wants and needs into product features, offerings, and requirements and identify enabling technologies required to produce these product offerings
  • Works on assigned product line projects, defining project financial analysis including engineering expense, investment budgeting, and project benefits and internal rate of return
  • Responsible for reporting-out frequently on the status of initiatives, and client business performance
  • Contribute positively to sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals
  • Communicate individual customer requirements for Account Manager in regard to design and quotation
  • Gather industry intelligence and benchmarking of competitors to inform the HSR product leader of critical market data
  • Communicate requirements for order fulfillment to sourcing and operations
  • Direct customer management through clear communication internally and externally
  • Document competitors' activities and assess potential market moves
  • Review and influence customer specifications to assure compliance and/or noted exceptions for development of equipment and service quotations
  • Make technical presentations to all levels of a customer organization
  • Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total scope project offering
  • Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual risk within the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process  

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a sales position)
  • At least 3 additional years of sales or marketing experience
  • At least 5 additional years of experience in manufacturing

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred
  • Knowledge of IT engineering, manufacturing, and design processes
  • Ability to manage complex multi-year technical programs in a matrix resource environment
  • Strong process discipline with sound analytic and statistical skills
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Strong track record of execution
  • Strong financial business acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
